Coach Trey O'Neil joined Sunrise Basketball Academy in the Summer of 2025. Coach O'Neil joins our program and brings a lot of basketball success with him. As a high school basketball player from Scott City (KS), Trey is a three time state champion and 3A player of the year in 2015. After high school, he continued his academic and basketball career at Fort Hays State University. When his playing days were over, he began his coaching career as an assistant basketball coach at Hays High School (Class 5A) and helped the Indians to two state tournament appearances and earning a Class 5A Forever Four finish in 2019. As his head coaching career started in 2021 at Hugoton High School (Class 4A), coach had a record of 74-22 in four seasons. Along with his record, coach's team competed in three state tournaments and winning the school's first ever State Championship in 2023. In the spring of 2025 Coach O'Neil became the new head boy's basketball coach at Andover High School. Trey and his wife Dusty were married in Wichita in the summer of 2024.
